Conde Nast Traveller & NY Times Travelers Guide Features Greece

The new Ministry of Culture and Tourism strategy on the promotion of Greek tourism abroad appears to be successful. Given the current limited funds for marketing promotions, the competent Ministry gladly welcomed the cover of the well known tourist magazine “Conde Nast Traveller” featuring Greece, accompanied by a comprehensive fifteen page article.
January’s 2011 issue titled: “Pure Bliss, 4 Perfect Little Isles In Greece” is already available in America at a critical time for the new year, with regard to making reservations in America. The magazine’s tribute focuses on the isles of Cylclades.  The text is enriched with quotes by Kazantzakis and Homer’s Odysseus.
This weekend the New York Times Travelers’ Guide will also feature Greece. The Ministry’s political leadership is pleased about the article.  The article  does not constitute an advertisement on behalf of the Ministry, but comes as a result of contacts made with tourism industry representatives.
Communication with the magazine’s editors had been established at recent tourism exhibitions in New York and Berlin.
The Ministry will soon publish data on the frequency of visitors on “Visit Greece”, which according to information, have increased.
